In 2024, our founder was traveling in New Zealand when she arrived at a stunning vineyard in Russell. The restaurant was alive with energy—friends laughing over wine, families sharing meals, and a birthday celebration on the lawn, all against the breathtaking backdrop of the Bay of Islands. It was the perfect setting for an incredible dining experience.
But when asked if she wanted a table, she hesitated. Sitting alone in such a lively atmosphere didn’t feel quite right.
That moment sparked an idea: Why should travelers and people living abroad miss out on these unforgettable experiences?
She discovered countless other travelers, nomads, and expats who felt the same. Together, they created NoSolo—a platform designed to help travelers connect with like-minded people, share authentic experiences, and immerse themselves in local culture over a great meal.
Meet Our Team
Christine Giraud’s 25 years of diverse work experience includes philanthropy, teaching, clinical research coordination, content creation, and marketing. She has traveled in 34 countries and lived abroad for longer periods of time in Africa, Europe, and Latin America. With contacts around the world, she has gained insight into the positives and negatives of life abroad and ways to enhance travel experiences. (Hint: new people!) In her spare time she likes to explore nature, watch films and tv, and be with family and friends.
Mimi Sam is a full stack web developer with a background in business operations and enjoys engaging both technical and administrative skill sets. She is also a technical virtual assistant helping organizations manage their operations and websites. Her preferred ways to travel are exploring new cities by foot and eating as local and authentic as possible.
